I have been reading a lot of feminist texts and I got confused because of the variable yet different solutions the feminists suggested to trouble the binary opposition system (for example, masculine/feminine, weak/strong, female/male). Some said "sameness" might lead to losing women's identity. Others said "difference" will reinforce the binary opposition. Then what is the right solution to deconstruct the binary opposition? :/
Thank you and looking forward to reading your opinion.|||A large galvanized hammer preferably made of a aluminum alloy handle.|||every book has different information in it. Dont assume one author wrote all the books. you need the extra effort and intelligence to better understand the distinctive arguments and explanation in many different books. follow what you think is the most valuable. that's the starting point of your own ideology about feminism. I personally think the sameness is important rather than the view of binary opposition that differentiates everything based on the male/female system. Everyone is equal. |||Which solution do *you* find most persuasive?
I very much like Judith Butler's work. She says that gender is performative rather than essential. She also critiques heternormativity. I think her work is a good example of how we can problematise binary oppositions: we reconceive them as multiple and fluid.
